Places to Go
Things to Do

If you're not familiar with the Island here are a few ideas for you to try.

The Gables

Not as expensive - or as formal - as it looks, The Gables is perfect for a special evening or a leisurely breakfast.

Bay Village

An easy walk and a great desitination at night, Bay Village has shops, restaurants and the most sophisticated mini golf on the Island.

Pearl Street Market

The Dean & Deluca of LBI.  The breakfasts are excellent - big sandwiches, tasty waffles, fresh fruit & coffee.  The seafood is fresh and the staff is so helpful.

Viking Village

The base on LBI of a commercial fishing fleet, Viking Village in Barnegat Light is a nice destination for a drive up the Island.  There are shops, ice cream and a take out seafoood restaurant.  Cassidy's fish market always has a great selection.

Barnegat Lighthouse

"Old Barney" at the northern tip of LBI has been a favorite subject of artists and photographers for years.  Almost every family who has visited LBI has climbed the lighthouse for an extradinary view of the Island and Bay.

The Showplace Ice Cream Parlour

The Show Place is reminiscent of a turn of the century ice cream parlour with soda jerks and wait staff in red and white striped vests and aprons - but that's not the best part.  They sing! And they make you sing,  too!  The ice cream is good, too, but go for the show.  Worth the wait in line to see what they're up to inside.

The Surflight Theater

Check their calendar to find out what's playing during your vacation.  In addition to the shows they have a Comedy series and Children's Theater.
